This year’s Oscars were a slightly odd affair, from the long acceptances to the small audience, the lack of a host and ending on the ‘Best Actor’ award.

That last one was staged as the late Chadwick Boseman was expected to win the category, however an 83-year-old Welshman who wasn’t in attendance or even linked into proceedings via Zoom or suchlike ended up the recipient.

So, the great Sir Anthony Hopkins won the statuette for his performance in The Father, and he’s now released a short and sweet acceptance, from somewhere in a field in his native Wales. Here it is:
