While suggestions of a remake of one of the greatest movies of all time have mercifully been ignored, there is now a musical version of Back to the Future.
With the involvement of original creators Bob Gale and Robert Zemeckis, it’s opened in Manchester, England and is running until May 17.
As is the way with these things, a bunch of extra songs have been inserted into the story, coming from the pens of Alan Silvestri and Glen Ballard. These join the classics that were already there, like The Power of Love, Back in Time and Johnny B Goode – hey, why ditch good songs?
The heavy-hitting names continue, with Tony Award-winning John Rando directing the whole shebang. They even have an actual DeLorean as part of the cast!
So far the show is apparently getting raves from audiences, so we guess time will tell whether it will come to our shores sometime in the future…
