Finally! We get to have a look at the new Scream movie, which will bring some familiar faces back to our screams – erm, screens.

Courteney Cox returns as reporter Gale Weathers in what will be her fifth Scream outing, while her ex, David Arquette, is returning to his role of Dewey Riley and Neve Campbell will be back for more as Sidney Prescott. Oh, and Ghostface dude will be back too, of course.

They’ll appear alongside Melissa Barrera, Kyle Gallner, Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison, Dylan Minnette, Jenna Ortega, Jack Quaid, Marley Shelton, Jasmin Savoy Brown and Sonia Ammar.

Here’s the official story line: “Twenty-five years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, a new killer has donned the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town’s deadly past.”

Ready or Not directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett oversaw this one, which – as seems to be a bit of a trend with horror franchises of late – resets things in the title department.

Scream is set to hit Australian cinemas from January 13, 2022. Here’s our first look at it (fave line: “I’m Sidney Prescott, of course I have a gun.”):
