The red stuff is barely dry from its original outing, yet TV vamp-fest True Blood is in the throes of being rebooted.

The network who aired it originally, HBO, are behind the resurrection of the series, which is based on The Southern Vampire Mysteries novels by Charlaine Harris.

Riverdale creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is on board to oversee production, as is original creator of the TV series Alan Ball, in an executive producer capacity.

The original True Blood aired from 2008 through to 2014, so that’s super-quick turnaround time for a reboot to be considered.
