It’s the pinnacle of awards season for many. It’s the Oscars, and the noms are in for what the Academy consider the best of the best of 2021.

The one with the most nominations this year is Jane Campion’s The Year of the Dog, garnering 12. Denis Villeneuve’s take on Dune is next with ten, followed by Kenneth Branagh’s Belfast and Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story, each with seven.

In Aussie watch, Nicole Kidman and Kodi Smit-McPhee lead the charge, each receiving nominations for Being the Ricardos and The Year of the Dog, respectively.

This year’s Oscar ceremony is in the calendar for March 27, and will be televised.
