It isn’t due to start shooting until July, but director J.J. Abrams already has the script for the next main Star Wars incarnation, currently known simply as Episode IX.

Abrams dropped the news on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, wryly adding that “Having a script in advance isn’t something I’ve always been lucky enough to have.”

Sadly – but, of course, not surprisingly – he wouldn’t give anything away about the ninth instalment of the Star Wars saga.

Anyway, to hear him say it here’s the director of The Force Awakens – and writer of Gone Fishin’ – with Mr Colbert…

There’s a whole universe of Star Wars stuff at JB Hi-Fi.
