Following the departure of Danny Boyle from the director’s chair of the 25th Bond film, a new bum has been hired to fill it.
Not that we’re saying that Cary Fukunaga, the Emmy-nabbing man who gave us the first season of True Detective is a bum, far from it. Like all of us he does, however, have one, and we reckon it’s perfectly suited to filling 007’s directorial throne.
While we were excited at what may have been with Boyle calling the shots, news of Fukumaga’s arrival intrigues us too. That first season of True Detective was a corker, and if Bond 25 is even just as good as that then it could be a big way for Daniel Craig to go out as the world’s most famous spy.
In other Bond 25 news, the release date has, not surprisingly, been shunted further into the future. Valentine’s Day 2020 is now the projected release date.
“We are delighted to be working with Cary. His versatility and innovation make him an excellent choice for our next James Bond adventure," said Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli. (2/2)
