James Gunn’s take on DC’s The Suicide Squad was a wild ride, and part of that was down to John Cena’s Peacemaker. Now we get a look at the whole series in which he struts his stuff.

He’s the guy who believes in peace at any cost – no matter how many people he has to kill to get it. Gunn described him as a “superhero/supervillain/and world’s biggest douchebag.”

There’ll be eight episodes, five of which Gunn is directing. Cena isn’t the only familiar face from the movie, with Steve Agee (playing John Economos) and Jennifer Holland (Emilia Harcourt) also joining in on the mayhem. They’re joined by the likes of Robert Patrick as Peacemaker’s dad, Danielle Brooks (Orange Is the New Black), Freddie Stroma (in quite a change from Bridgerton) and Chukwudi Iwuji (John Wick: Chapter 2).

Peacemaker is set to kick off from January 13. Here’s the latest trailer, complete with a whole lot of Mötley Crüe:
