All the stars are doing it: getting their own limited television series action. The wonderful Kate Winslet is no exception, with HBO drama Mare of Easttown.

Set to premiere in April, the seven-part series comes from the mind of Brad Ingelsby, who gave us The Way Back last year.

Winslet stars as Mare Sheehan, “a small-town Pennsylvania detective who investigates a local murder as life crumbles around her”, in “an exploration into the dark side of a close community and an authentic examination of how family and past tragedies can define our present.”

Mare of Easttown also stars Guy Pearce, Julianne Nicholson, Jean Smart, Angourie Rice, Evan Peters, Cailee Spaeny, David Denman, John Douglas Thompson, Patrick Murney, James McArdle, Sosie Bacon, Joe Tippett and Neal Huff.
