The title may give it a reboot air, but this new Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a sequel to the 1974 horror classic.
Here’s the story: “After nearly 50 years of hiding, Leatherface returns to terrorise a group of idealistic young friends who accidentally disrupt his carefully shielded world in a remote Texas town.”
It’s been directed by Emmy-winning Texas native David Blue Garcia (the Emmy dates back to 2011 for working the camera on the Ironman World Championship), with Fede Álvarez – who’s also given us the likes of Don’t Breathe and the 2013 Evil Dead remake – writing and producing.
John Larroquette, who narrated the original The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, returns in the same capacity.
Look out for Texas Chainsaw Massacre from February 18.
Here’s a new trailer, which – not surprisingly, considering the movie’s title – should have a LANGUAGE AND GORE warning.
