From 12 Years a Slave through to two Star Wars flicks and Black Panther, Lupita Nyong’o’s career has rocketed quickly. Now she’s set to star in John Woo’s remake of his classic The Killer.
The original 1989 Hong Kong crime action piece starred Chow Yun Fat as a disillusioned assassin out to carry off one more hit in order to make good on something bad that he did.
According to Deadline, Nyong’o is set to take on the assassin’s role in a new story based heavily on the original, with Woo acting in both a directorial and production capacity. Filming is expected to begin late this year.
