Josh Lawson, who we’ve seen in everything from Sea Patrol to Superstore, has written, directed and also appears in upcoming romcom Long Story Short.

It takes the time repeat scenario and hurls it out the window, in favour of different time-based shenanigans.

It revolves around a bloke named Teddy (Rafe Spall) who has a remarkable talent for procrastination. But after encountering a rather odd woman (who bears a striking resemblance to Play School legend Noni Hazlehurst, because it is indeed her) he finds his life flitting by at the rate of a year every few minutes. Time is literally running out for him, so what to do to get his life back on track?

Also starring Zahra Newman (Wentworth, Sisters, Neighbours) and Ronny Chieng (Crazy Rich Asians), Long Story Short looks like a lot of fun. It opens in Aussie cinemas on February 11, just in time for those who do lovey-dovey stuff on February 14.
