Following her latest Harley Quinn outing in the upcoming Birds of Prey, Margot Robbie may be taking on the persona of another iconic comic chick in Tank Girl.
Robbie’s production company, LuckyChap Entertainment, has optioned the character, who last graced movie screens back in 1995 when Lori Petty played the titular role. That one didn’t go down particularly well.
Co-creator of the original Tank Girl comic back in the 1980s, Alan Martin, broke the news via Twitter. The other person behind the series is Gorillaz co-conspirator Jamie Hewlett – as many will instantly be able to tell from the art style.
Miles Joris-Peyrafitte, who worked with Robbie on Dreamland, is set to direct, according to Collider.
Apparently There’s no script as yet, and Robbie is waiting to check it out before committing fully to the starring role.
