Several Marvel Cinematic Universe movies are available now on 4K Ultra HD, but many of them aren’t. Great news is that this is set to change – and soon.
Our collections may not be completed in a snap, but according to Collider, Captain Marvel executive producers Victoria Alonso and Jonathan Schwartz said of the MCU movies, “We are going to remaster all of our films in 4K. We’re in the process of doing that, so it’s all happening.”
We currently have the Ant-Man and the Wasp, first three Avengers flicks, Black Panther, the entire Captain America trilogy, Guardians of the Galaxy 2: Vol 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming and Thor: Ragnarok, with Captain Marvel arriving on June 19. The Incredible Hulk is out on 4K overseas, but hasn’t been scheduled for a local release as yet.
Avengers: Endgame is set for August 21, and it turns out that this will be a really big day for MCU fans, as it will also see the local release on 4K Ultra HD of the three Iron Man movies, plus the first two Thor flicks.
By our calculations, that will only leave Ant-Man, Doctor Strange and the original Guardians of the Galaxy to come.
These are certainly exciting times for 4K-equipped MCU fans. Keep it coming, we say!
