With Marvel’s Black Panther crossing the $1 billion box office mark already, it was a pretty sure bet that there’d be a sequel. Kevin Feige has finally confirmed Black Panther 2.
No details or anything else that make for scintillating newsy reading were divulged in the Marvel supremo’s interview with EW, but isn’t that enough?
“We have ideas and a pretty solid direction on where we want to head with the second one.”
As to what will happen with the Wakandan superhero is anybody’s guess, especially when Feige has hinted that other characters in the Black Panther orbit may spin out into their own movies. What we do know at least is that Feige has previously said that if a Black Panther 2 happens, he wants Ryan Coogler back in the chair marked “Director”.
Meanwhile, Marvel artist Karla Ortiz has been sharing some of her wonderful concept art for Black Panther on Twitter…
1/2 Way WAY before the incredible @letitiawright was cast, we were tasked with creating a look for Shuri, #blackpanther ‘s 17 yr old sister. I wanted to find a balance between T’Challa’s panther outfit and the Dora Milaje patterning and beading, while keeping it age appropriate- pic.twitter.com/PszxNgxkyu

2/2 also early on her panther gauntlets where supposed to be giant, and in super early concepts almost rock like. While it would have been fun, I do prefer the sleeker, hi-tech gauntlets in the movie! 🙂
