Sci-fi dramedy Downsizing, starring Matt Damon, has looked like being big, big fun from what we’ve seen of it so far.
The tale of a new way to avoid Earth becoming totally overcrowded by shrinking people to doll size, creating whole new communites in the process, sees Damon playing everyman Paul Safranek. Tired of their stressed lives, he and his wife plan to take the irreversible treatment, becoming smaller physically but bigger ecologically.
Also starring Christoph Waltz, Hong Chau, Jason Sudeikis and Kristen Wiig, Downsizing is set to hit Australian cinemas on December 26.
This new trailer lets off a cool kind of a The Secret Life of Walter Mitty vibe, and we must stress that it contains a fairly major spoiler, so if you plan to check the movie out upon release then you’re probably best off not watching it.
Hmm, we’re questioning our decision to post this at all now. Hopefully we’ll be more decisive if we ever consider downsizing.
