Metallica vocalist and shredder extraordinaire James Hetfield is making his movie acting debut, as a cop in the Ted Bundy biopic Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile.
Not to be confused with Al Bundy from Married with Children (people have done it), this Bundy was a notorious serial killer who murdered numerous young women in the 1970s. The title of the movie only begins to cover how horrific this “man” was.
While Zac Efron plays the lead, Hetfield will take on his first dramatic role in the film, as Officer Bob Hayward. He was a Utah highway patrol cop who, upon pulling him over, arrested Bundy in 1975 after finding burglarly tools in his car.
There’s actually a Metallica connection here, as Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile director Joe Berlinger was also responsible for the fascinating warts, warts and more warts band doco Some Kind of Monster back in 2004.
Here’s the announce post from the band on Facebook.
Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile also stars Lily Collins, John Malkovich, Jim Parsons, Haley Joel Osment, Kaya Scodelario, Jeffrey Donovan and Dylan Baker.
There’s no date for the movie as yet, so here’s Metallica romping through Seek & Destroy in Barcelona earlier this month.
