Fangoria x Monster Fest are resuming their free Friday Fright Night Facebook Live screenings from Friday, June 5, and have also revealed the next four weeks of programming.
With cinemas still closed nationwide, Australia’s premier purveyors of horror and cult cinema will continue to bring an eclectic weekly program to their audience.
“Our Monster Fest audience is a loyal bunch and we wanted to reward them with an experience that was as comparable as we could to attending one of our events in person, but from the comfort of their own home – and for free!” says Monster Pictures’ Friday Fright Night programmer Jarret Gahan. “Our first program has been a great success – since launching on April 10th we’ve seen attendance grow with each week.”
Friday Fright Night returns this Friday, June 5, at 9.00 pm AEST with a screening of director Jim Hosking’s insane cult classic The Greasy Strangler (2016), including an introduction from actor Sky Elobar. Then on June 12, it’s Dead Hooker in a Trunk (2009) – the debut feature of Canadian filmmakers Jen and Sylvia Soska (Rabid, American Mary), who will introduce the screening. June 19 brings a Pollyanna McIntosh–athon, a celebration of the Scottish actress best known for the role as Jadis in The Walking Dead. See Pollyanna at her very best in Lucky McKee’s disturbing The Woman (2011), followed by moody Irish shocker Let Us Prey (2014) and rural nightmare White Settlers (2014).
Rounding out the month is Aussie horror comedy Tarnation (2017), including a live chat commentary by filmmaker David Armstrong plus cast and crew, followed by the bonkers giallo thriller homage The Editor (2014) on July 3.
Head to the Monster Fest Facebook page every Friday from June 5 – July 3 at 9.00pm AEST, share your comments, chat with fellow viewers, and most importantly enjoy the show!
