After the runaway success of Bohemian Rhapsody, and the raves besetting the Elton John-inspired Rocketman, it isn’t surprising that studios are on the lookout for more famous singer lives worthy of a movie. Boy George’s certainly fits that bill.
MGM are planning a yet-to-be-titled movie based on the former Culture Club singer, who went on to a solo music career, well-publicised drug issues, a prison stint, TV stardom and more.
Sacha Gervasi (the fabulously-titled Anvil: The Story of Anvil), is set to both write and direct, according to Deadline.
MGM also have another music bio in the works currently, Respect, with Jennifer Hudson set to play the ‘Queen of Soul’, Aretha Franklin.
