This week’s trailer for Marvel’s The New Mutants may have taken a relatively low-key approach, but not so the latest one for Black Panther – this thing is explosive!
Not only is it action-packed, the soundtrack is superb. It opens with Vince Staples’ Bagbak, and morphs into a remix of Gil Scott-Heron’s genuinely classic The Revolution Will Not Be Televised.
But back to the movie itself, Chadwick Boseman is back as the titular character following Captain America: Civil War. The man known as T’Challa returns to his isolated African nation home of Wakanda following the death of his father, in order to take his place as heir to the throne. He’s soon challenged from within though, and must reach out to the C.I.A. for help in preventing his country’s spiral into war.
Also starring Martin Freeman, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, Andy Serkis, Sterling K. Brown, Lupita Nyong’o and Michael B. Jordan, Black Panther is set to launch in Australian cinemas on February 15, 2008.
