The stars of ‘The Cornetto trilogy’ – Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and The World’s End – are working on a new TV series called Truth Seekers.
Having formed their own production company in Stolen Picture, this televisual experience from Simon Pegg and Nick Frost will be a comedy/horror series revolving around a three-person paranormal investigation team.
“Each episode is going to be an adventure, a potential haunting or something,” Pegg told Variety. “It’ll start as a very parochial idea, a very small business venture for these people, but it will expand as the series goes on to be something far more global. It’s a language everyone understands, the mystery of the unknown. Shaun of the Dead was a very parochial story set in North London and somehow it managed to get this global reach, because everyone understands the language of zombie movies.”
Truth Seekers isn’t the only project that the pair have on the go, as they’re teaming with A Fantastic Fear of Everything writer/director – and former Kula Shaker frontman – Crispian Mills for a new movie. Entitled Slaughterhouse Rulez, it’s to be set in a posh British boarding school that becomes a bloody battleground following the appearance of a horror-spewing sinkhole. Both Pegg and Frost will star alongside the likes of Micheal Sheen, Asa Butterfield and Hermione Corfield.
Slaughterhouse Rulez is expected to hit cinemas towards the end of 2018.
