A while back we heard about an upcoming Nicolas Cage flick called Wally’s Wonderland. It’s now called Willy’s Wonderland, and we have a first look at it.
The hearty slice of horror will see Cage playing a night shift janitor who’s employed to clean up an abandoned family amusement centre, wherein the animatronic characters come alive. His cleaner-upperer personage will need to fight each of them off in hopes of seeing another day.
So, basically it sounds like the video game Five Nights at Freddy’s.
Kevin Lewis is directing. He, uh, previously gave us both Malibu Sping Break and the Sean Young-starring The Drop.
We do love Lewis’s vision in this quote about Willy’s Wonderland: “For me there was always one actor and one actor only who could make this movie work, and that actor is Nic Cage. I’m thrilled to be working with him and can’t wait to see him go up against Willy and his gang of psychopathic misfits. I see this movie as Pale Rider vs Killer Klowns from Outer Space.”
Here’s a very brief teaser for Willy’s Wonderland, which is slated for release in 2021:
