We have another look at Godzilla: King of the Monsters, and this one brings a certain lightheartedness to the potential decimation of Earth.
How so? It’s set to an orchestral take on classic The Wizard of Oz tune Somewhere Over the Rainbow. In it, we get to see Godzilla called in to face off against other classic giant creatures such as Rodan, Mothra and King Ghidorah. Go Godzilla, go!
Krampus writer/director Michael Dougherty is directing, while the movie’s cast also includes Millie Bobby Brown, Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, Ken Watanabe, Sally Hawkins, Bradley Whitford, Charles Dance, O’Shea Jackson Jr, Zhang Ziyi, and Silicon Valley‘s Thomas Middleditch.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters (which may or may not end up with a “II” in there somewhere locally) is on track for a May 30 Aussie cinema release.
This won’t be the last that we see of Godzilla, either, as Godzilla vs Kong is slated for release next year, featuring returning cast members Millie Bobby Brown, Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga and Zhang Ziyi, alongside with the likes of Alexander Skarsgård, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Lance Reddick and Julian Dennison.
