There are zombie movies and there are zombie movies, and Zombieland was a zombie movie… As is its long-awaited sequel, Zombieland: Double Tap.
We finally get to have a decent look at it via a new trailer that’s just dropped overnight.
There’s a fun, irreverent vibe to proceedings, with many, many shots fired to the strains of AC/DC’s Shoot to Thrill, and a bit of fun with the billing of the four stars near the start.
It all basically looks like an excuse for more silliness, which is fine by us. This is borne out by the official blurb, which doesn’t add much at all in the way of plot outline: “Columbus, Tallahasse, Wichita and Little Rock move to the American heartland as they face off against evolved zombies, fellow survivors and the growing pains of the snarky makeshift family.”
Director Ruben Fleischer, who’s since given us Venom, returns, as do original writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who worked on a little thing called Deadpool.
Zombieland: Double Tap shambles into Australian cinemas from October 17. Needless to say, we can’t wait!
