Earlier this year came news that Star Wars‘ cult hero bounty hunter Boba Fett was to get his own movie, Solo: A Star Wars Story style. Now, well, he isn’t.

This news will likely please those who are over Star Wars being spun off every which way, but many were keen on the idea, especially with Logan director James Mangold having been attached to direct.

The news was reportedly confirmed by Star Wars overlord Kathleen Kennedy, and apparently Lucasfilm will now be concentrating their efforts on their streaming series The Mandalorian, at least according to Deadline. It’s believed that the Disney-owned company wasn’t particularly jazzed with the box office performance of Solo: A Star Wars Story, only making a US$92 million profit and all.

Maybe Boba can now go and hang out in a bar somewhere with Obi-Wan Kenobi? It appears that the once-rumoured standalone film of his life has also become MIA.
