Fans of the blue blur rejoice, for the abomination that was set to appear in the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog movie has been replaced.

Sonic now looks like Sonic, albeit a little fuzzier, and he looks great. Interestingly, all the old official postings of the evil Sonic trailers seem to have vanished… Maybe it was just a massive, horrible, shared nightmare?

Anyway, see guys, how hard was that? (Maybe we should ask the myriad CGI people who’ve been beavering – or hedgehogging – away feverishly fixing it the past six months).

ICYMI, Sonic comes to Earth in order to save his planet, befriends a young guy (James Marsden), and then has to save all of our behinds as well when evil old Dr Robotnik, who bears an uncanny resemblance to Jim Carrey, touches down.

The big bad’s name is interesting, in that the head of SEGA’s Sonic Team, Takashi Iizuka, recently confirmed to STACK that the character’s official name is NOT Dr Robotnik, but Dr Eggman. We know who we trust as the last word on this one.

Anyway, Sonic the Hedgehog is set to speed into Australian cinemas on February 13, 2020. Here’s the brand new, not scary trailer:

(Try to) catch up with Sonic at JB Hi-Fi.
