Back in 1986, a fledgling Pixar wowed the world with a short called Luxo Jr. Their computer graphics have come a long way since, as a new demo attests.

We’re calling it a demo because there’s no narrative to Automaton, just a continuous stream of stunningly true-to-life animation that blurs the line between reality and art.

If you’re at all interested in animation it’s a must-watch:

Luxo Jr. features in the Pixar Short Films Collection 1, available now at JB Hi-Fi.
