When word first hit about the live action Detective Pikachu movie, we weren’t certain if it was real – but it sure is. It’s rapidly gaining more cast members, too.
As most will know, Deadpool dude Ryan Reynolds is set to voice the titular CGI character, while the likes of Ken Watanabe (who we can’t wait to see in Godzilla: King of Monsters), Kathryn Newton (who’s been in three of the biggest nominated things of the past year – Three Billboards, Lady Bird and Big Little Lies) and Justice Smith (The Get Down) are already inhabiting their very own Poké Balls for the production.
Now two new names have been added – Bill Nighy (The Boat That Rocked – and lots of other roles that rocked) and Chris Geere (You’re the Worst).
Detective Pikachu is really shaping up as something intriguing. We can’t wait to bring you more news.
Meanwhile, the Detective Pikachu Nintendo 3DS game (trailer below) and giant-sized amiibo will both release on March 24. You can pre-order them at JB Hi-Fi here.
