The crossover has a fine tradition that dates back, erm, quite a way. Now comes word of another one, with Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Great, we now have a mashup of the ’60s Bat-theme and the TMNT song rattling about in our heads – “Na na na na na na na na tee-nage mu-tant-nin-ja turtles!”. But this partnership comes to us via the DC Animated Movie Universe.
Want the official synopsis? Here goes: “It’ll take the unlikely unification of the Dark Knight and the Heroes in a Half-shell to overcome combined villainous forces afoot in Gotham City in this all-new, feature-length animated thriller. Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles finds Gotham City reaching new levels of danger when Shredder joins forces with Ra’s al Ghul to enact a nefarious plan – leading to the team-up of the Dark Knight and the Turtles to combat the combined might of the Foot Clan and League of Assassins!”
The collision of the bat and the rat (well, we assume that Master Splinter is in there somewhere) is set for a June home release.
