Some info has dropped on the upcoming 25th 007 escapade, including that Rami Malek will be portraying Bond’s big bad nemesis.
Set to be the final outing for Daniel Craig as the much-loved MI6 agent, the movie will see him taking it easy in Jamaica after leaving the service behind him. This good life is shortlived, however, when his CIA pal Felix Leiter comes to him seeking help to to rescue a kidnapped scientist. Naturally this proves to be far more dangerous than expected, and leads Bond to a mysterious villain armed with killer new tech.
Speaking of Jamaica, Bond creator Ian Fleming’s home there hosted a big online reveal of cast, locations and other titbits regarding the as-yet unnamed new film.
Bond 25 will be directed by Cary Fukanaga, who helmed the first series of True Detective. Joining Craig and Malek will be a bumper cast including returns from Ralph Fiennes, Lea Seydoux, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, Rory Kinnear, and Jeffrey Wright. Newcomers to the franchise will include Dali Benssalah, Billy Magnussen, Ana De Armas, David Dencik and Lashanna Lynch.
Many of them are interviewed in video of the event, which you can watch in its entirety below. Malek wasn’t there, but he did pop up in a pre-recorded spot to let us know that he’s looking forward to making life tough for Mr Bond. He also seems to have had some dental work done since Bohemian Rhapsody…
Production is set to begin this weekend, with a planned cinematic release in April next year.
