On July 4, 1976, an Air France Airbus with 248 passengers was hijacked and flown to Entebbe, Uganda. It’s now the subject of a new movie, and here’s a trailer.

Starring Rosamund Pike, Daniel Brühl and Eddie Marsan, Entebbe has some serious behind-the-scenes muscle, with direction from Narcos‘ José Padilha and backing from the same producers as Spotlight and The Theory of Everything.

This isn’t the first time the events of the hijacking have been made into a film. Nor is it the second, or third, or fourth, or… It will be interesting to see how it comes up with a big budget behind it.

Being an actual event, details of the hijacking are readily available, so we won’t spoil anything here. If you’re unaware of what transpired, the trailer below will give you some idea.

Entebbe is due in cinemas in 2018.
