It’s official – well, Mr The Rock says it is, and we haven’t the courage to doubt him – Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle is now Sony’s highest grossing movie ever. Take that, Spidey!
The news is very well timed, coinciding with this week’s home release, and having watched the flick again from the cushion-infested confines of our comfy couch last night we still reckon it’s a darned fun one.
Which is a good thing, for Dwayne and his crew aren’t resting on their piles of money, with the big guy also confirming that work on a sequel to the re-something (well, it wasn’t a remake, nor really a reimagining… it was kind of a reboot – erm, reintroduction?) is now underway.
He’s also promised – tongue-in-cheek, we think – to give the fans what they want and kill off Kevin Hart’s character once and for all.
It’s official: Last night you made JUMANJI, Sony’s biggest movie ever. EVER. Previous record held by SpiderMan. My #1 goal is always giving the audience what they want and always sending ya home happy. Working on the sequel now, so bye bye @kevinhart4real’s character. ??? Love y’all ?? and THANK YOU. #JUMANJI #BiggestEver #Sony
