Samuel L. Jackson sure seems to be having fun in Nickelodeon’s upcoming animated martial arts adventure Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank.

The video that we’ve popped in below takes us behind the scenes of voicing the thing, featuring stars Michael Cera and Samuel L. Jackson. We get the joy of watching the latter actor say, in a tip of the hat to his renown for more fruity language, “What the mother father cocker spaniel is going on here?”

Looking akin to a collision of Kung Fu Panda and the classic Underdog series, Jackson gives voice to a faded samurai, who is roped into training the titular Hank – who’s voiced by Cera.

The rest of the voice cast is pretty killer, too. It includes Mel Brooks, George Takei, Aasif Mandvi, Gabriel Iglesias, Djimon Hounsou, Michelle Yeoh, Kylie Kuioka, Ricky Gervais and Cathy Shim.

Story-wise, you’ve likely got a fair idea already, but here’s the official word: “Hard-on-his-luck hound Hank finds himself in a town full of cats who need a hero to defend them from a ruthless villain’s evil plot to wipe their village off the map. With help from a reluctant teacher to train him, our underdog must assume the role of town samurai and team up with the villagers to save the day. The only problem… cats hate dogs!”

Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank is now set for an Australian cinema release from September 15.
