The Game of Thrones panel in Hall H today didn’t reveal what’s in store in the final seasons, but it did bring a special Westerosian guest as moderator and a new teaser that stoked fan expectation to fever pitch.
There’s a delicious irony to a GoT panel hosted by Kristian Nairn, who only said “Hodor” during his time on the show. But he was more loquacious here, even suggesting that Brienne and Hodor would have made a good couple.
Panelists included Sophie Turner (Sansa), John Bradley (Sam), Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandie), Conleth Hill (Varys), Gwendoline Christie (Brienne), Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran), Grey Worm (Jacob Anderson) in a Spider-Man shirt, and Alfie Allen (Theon) with a puppy.
As usual, there were more questions than answers and no teasers from the cast, which left a new Season 7 trailer to provide a glimpse of what’s ahead now that winter is here – and it’s a belter! The Lannister forces on the march, the Night King’s army of the dead closing in on the North, Jon Snow suggesting an alliance with Daenerys and her dragonfire, and Melisandre consorting with the Khaleesi.
The endgame would appear to have begun…
