Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper star in the latest remake of the classic A Star Is Born.
Not only is Cooper starring, he’s also making his directorial debut with his take on the tale that previously saw the likes of Judy Garland and Babs Streisand in the starring role.
While still based on the 1937 screenplay by Robert Carson and William A. Wellman, like other versions this A Star Is Born puts a contemporary spin on proceedings. But it’s still a tragic love story about a guy (Cooper) who discovers—and falls in love with – a struggling artist (Gaga) who’s dream to become a famous singer seems destined to remain as such.
In an intriguing move, the cast also includes Andrew Dice Clay – the controversial comedian whom EMF sampled for their one and only hit Unbelievable. Hey, he was ace in Pretty in Pink!
Naturally Gaga gets to do lots of what see does best – sing – with a selection of original songs that she co-wrote with Cooper and the likes of Mark Ronson for the film.
We wonder if she’ll rock up to the premiere in an egg or meat dress? Maybe wearing a meat dress in an egg?
A Star Is Born is set for an Australian release on October 4.
