We haven’t been short of looks at Pixar’s upcoming space epic Lightyear, and now we have another one, designated “Official Trailer 3”.

Billed as a “sci-fi action-adventure”, this is the story of the actual Buzz Lightyear, the intrepid space hero who inspired the toy version that we’ve known and loved ever since Pixar really became a thing back in 1995.

Here’s the official word: “Lightyear follows the legendary Space Ranger after he’s marooned on a hostile planet 4.2 million light-years from Earth alongside his commander and their crew. As Buzz tries to find a way back home through space and time, he’s joined by a group of ambitious recruits and his charming robot companion cat, Sox. Complicating matters and threatening the mission is the arrival of Zurg, an imposing presence with an army of ruthless robots and a mysterious agenda.”

Captain America himself Chris Evans gives voice to Buzz, while the rest of the voice cast includes Keke Palmer, Dale Soules, Taika Waititi, Uzo Aduba, James Brolin, Mary McDonald-Lewis, Efren Ramirez and Isiah Whitlock Jr. Meanwhile, Buzz’s robo-kitty is given voice by Peter Sohn. Finding Dory co-director Angus MacLane directs.

Lightyear is on target for a June 16 release in Australian cinemas. Here’s that new trailer, complete with musical accompaniment from The Black Keys:
