The new Spidey flick, Spider-Man: Far From Home, is already nudging box office records, after an earlier in the week than normal release.
Speaking in US dollars, because they’re actually worth something currently, the flick gobbled up $39.2 million on its North American opening day alone. That’s a record for Tuesday sales, that was previously held by another web-slinger in Andrew Garfield with The Amazing Spider-Man.
The bucks don’t stop there though, with expectations for anywhere from US$125 to US$150 million to be taken at the box office in the film’s first week.
This is, of course, on top of international sales. The film opened last weekend in Asia and has already raked in US $150 million to date there.
Spider-Man: Homecoming ended up grossing an eye-watering US$880 million worldwide, and it looks like Far From Home might be leaving it in its rearview mirror rather quickly to become a bigger box office marvel.
