Often you have a movie that, maybe, spawns a game. Sometimes a game spawns a movie – usually unsuccessfully. But in the case of Star Wars, can a KOTOR movie possibly fail?
KOTOR – or Knights of the Old Republic – is an RPG game from 2003 that’s set some 4,000 years before the foundation of the Galactic Empire. Players take on the role of a Jedi who aims to defeat Darth Malak, a Dark Lord of the Sith.
In an interview with MTV, Disney’s Star Wars overlord Kathleen Kennedy confirmed that something related to KOTOR is in the works. Speculation is rife that this may be what Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and DB Weiss are working on as their Star Wars universe films.
Meanwhile, the original Star Wars overlord, George Lucas, has fans in a flap after reiterating his love for much-maligned character Jar Jar Binks, claiming that he’s his all-time favourite. As far as we’re concerned, nobody has a right to question a parent’s love for their child, so hey, go George!
