Classic 1972 “blaxploitation” flick Super Fly loses a space and gains a 21st century makeover in upcoming reimagining Superfly.

Moving the story from Harlem to Atlanta, the cast brings some heavyweight talent to the table, including the likes of Trevor Jackson (TV’s Grown-ish), Jennifer Morrison (TV’s Once Upon a Time), Jason Mitchell (Straight Outta Compton), Michael Kenneth Williams (TV’s The Wire), Lex Scott Davis (TV’s Training Day), Andrea Londo (TV’s Narcos) and Outkast’s Big Boi.

It’s been directed by Director X, who previously helmed 2015’s Across the Line, as well as music vids for the likes of Nicky Minaj, Drake, Busta Rhymes, Iggy Azalea, Ludacris, Rihanna and Alicia Keys.

Speaking of music, the original soundtrack has been curated by Future, who’s also co-produced the film with Joel Silver.

Superfly hits Australian cinemas July 26.
