Remember how Mel Gibson magically knew what women wanted in, erm, What Women Want? Now Taraji P. Henson gets to turn the tables on the guys in What Men Want.

Yes, Nancy Meyers’ comedy has undergone a gender swap, wherein Henson’s character Ali Davis is a successful sports agent who’s continually shut out of the male-dominated world in which she works. When she’s overlooked for a promotion she goes on the offensive, drinks some weird African tea and can suddenly hear the thoughts of men. Hijinks ensue, etc.

Henson was superb in Hidden Figures and Empire, so this one could be good fun. Joining her are the likes of Tracy Morgan, Richard Roundtree, Josh Brener, Tamala Jones and Erykah Badu. Adam Shankman (Hairspray) directs.

What Men Want is set to open in Australian cinemas on January 10, 2019.
