The much-talked-about ninth movie from Quentin Tarantino now has a title – it will be called Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Ah, with a title like that it seems that you can take the Tarantino out of the western, but you can’t take the western out of the Tarantino.

Anyway, QT has given the world a brief synopsis which explains the Charles Manson connection.

“It’s a story that takes place in Los Angeles in 1969, at the height of hippy Hollywood. The two lead characters are Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio), former star of a western TV series, and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth. Both are struggling to make it in a Hollywood they don’t recognise anymore. But Rick has a very famous next-door neighbor… Sharon Tate.”

Two of the director’s former collaborators have signed up for the two lead roles, with Leonardo DiCaprio playing Rick Dalton, and Brad Pitt doing the Cliff Booth thing. While Tarantino has been said to want Margot Robbie to play Sharon Tate, nothing is confirmed there yet. Well, unless it has been confirmed but they’re not telling.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is currently set for an August 9, 2019 international release date – which is a touch sick as it’s the 50th anniversary of Sharon Tate’s murder. How very Tarantino.

Meanwhile, the guy really knows and loves his Aussie movies…
