A 13-episode animated Blade Runner series – Blade Runner: Black Lotus – is coming, and the latest trailer looks quite stunning.
Created by Shinji Aramaki and Kenji Kamiyama, who between them have worked on the likes of Ultraman and Akira, it’s set in 2032 and there’s a new star of the show in replicant Elle.
The official word reads like this: “Los Angeles 2032. A young woman wakes up with no memories, and possessing deadly skills. The only clues to her mystery are a locked data device and a tattoo of a black lotus. Putting together the pieces, she must hunt down the people responsible for her brutal and bloody past to find the truth of her lost identity.”
The Japanese-made series will kick off in mid-November. The English dub is set to star the voices of Jessica Henwick, Josh Duhamel, Will Yun Lee, Samira Wiley, Brian Cox,Wes Bentley, Peyton List, Stephen Root, Barkhad Abdi, Gregg Henry, Henry Czerny and Jason Spisak. Good news is that a subtitled, original Japanese presentation will also be available.
