With the massive success of superhero satire The Boys, it was inevitable that its universe would expand, and that’s precisely what’s happening.
While it doesn’t yet have a title – well, at least they haven’t announced one – a plan is formulating for a series centred around a college for superheroes.
Lizze Broadway, who’s clocked up an impressive list of TV guest appearances, Jaz Sinclair of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Shane Paul McGhie of TV’s Deputy, Aimee Carrero (the voice of She-Ra!), Reina Hardesty (TV’s Brockmire) and Maddie Phillips (TV’s Teenage Bounty Hunters) have all been signed up so far to star.
Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters, who both worked on Agent Carter, have been brought onboard as showrunners.
Here’s the official word on what the series is about: “Set at America’s only college exclusively for young-adult superheroes (run by Vought International), the untitled The Boys spinoff is an irreverent, R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities. It’s part college show, part Hunger Games—with all the heart, satire and raunch of The Boys.”
