In what is bad news for lovers of top-notch TV, The Good Fight‘s upcoming sixth season will be its last hurrah.

The legal drama, which continued the fine legacy of The Good Wife, has constantly entertained over five seasons, melding truth and fiction in several creative and engaging ways.

Speaking of what to expect in the final season, series creators Robert and Michelle King told THR that Christine Baranski’s character Diane will be dealing with an “uneasy sense of déjà vu, with everything from Roe v. Wade, to voting rights, to Cold War aggressions returning. Meanwhile, the lawyers of Reddick & Associates wonder if the violence that they see all around them points to an impending civil war.”

Fans will love that Carrie Preston will be returning in some way as the endearingly bonkers Elsbeth Tascioni, as will Alan Cumming as lovable sleaze Eli Gold. More regular arrivals to the final season will include Mad Men‘s John Slattery and Brooklyn Nine-Nine‘s Andre Braugher.

The final season is in production now, with a planned starting air date of September 8. Here’s an inconsequential but fun teaser:
