2020 and 2021 have both been challenging, but any respite in 2022 is out the window, as the moon is going to hit Earth. Well, in Moonfall at least.
Yes, the guy who gave us Independence Day, The Day After Tomorrow and 2012 certainly isn’t finished with blowing up and otherwise distressing us poor human beings.
The plot of Roland Emmerich’s latest disaster epic goes something like this: “A mysterious force knocks the moon from its orbit around Earth and sends it hurtling on a collision course with life as we know it. With mere weeks before impact and the world on the brink of annihilation, NASA executive and former astronaut Jo Fowler (Halle Berry) is convinced she has the key to saving us all – but only one astronaut from her past, Brian Harper (Patrick Wilson), and conspiracy theorist K.C. Houseman (John Bradley) believe her. The unlikely heroes will mount an impossible last-ditch mission into space only to find out that our moon is not what we think it is.”
Help us, Halle Berry, you’re our only hope!
Starring alongside Halle, Wilson and Bradley will be Michael Peña, Charlie Plummer, Kelly Yu and Donald Sutherland.
