The Green Hornet has a history that dates back long before the polarising 2011 Michel Gondry-directed take, and now he looks to be coming back to movie screens.
With his ace sidekick Kato, of course! Indeed the new movie is paying deserved respect, with the current title being The Green Hornet and Kato.
The fine people at Deadline are reporting that Aussie Leigh Whannell is in negotiations to sit in the director’s chair for this one, with Universal keen to have him on board after the success of his The Invisible Man update.
We should expect a more action-oriented script than that of the 2011 one, which starred Seth Rogen and Jay Chou, for this new take on the story that originally kicked off on radio back in the 1930s. It’s been written by David Koepp, who’s penned the odd box office hit script in his time, including Jurassic Park, Mission: Impossible, Spider-Man and War of the Worlds. We’ll forget about the 2017 take on The Mummy.
It’s believed that the movie will be pushed quickly into production. We look forward to hearing more.
