Harry Potter fans rejoice, for the third film in the spinoff series will officially be known as Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.
If they made a LEGO version we guess it would be The Secrets of Doubledoor. Anyway…
The title announcement came via a tweet, which looked exactly like this one:
— Harry Potter Film (@HarryPotterFilm) September 22, 2021
Lo and behold, we also have a release date, and it’s not that far away! Just in case the Tweet isn’t showing for you, that date is April 15, 2022 – which will probably be April 14 here in Australia, or could be any other date the way cinematic releases have been messed about lately.
If you’re wondering what the story will be all about, wonder no more: “Professor Albus Dumbledore knows the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald is moving to seize control of the wizarding world. Unable to stop him alone, he entrusts Magizoologist Newt Scamander to lead an intrepid team of wizards, witches and one brave Muggle baker on a dangerous mission, where they encounter old and new beasts and clash with Grindelwald’s growing legion of followers. But with the stakes so high, how long can Dumbledore remain on the sidelines?”
Most of the established cast will be returning, including Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander and Jude Law as the titular Albus Dumbledore.
