The latest from those masters of clay manipulation, Aardman, is Early Man. Here’s a fun 360o look behind the scenes at the making of it.

The first thing that strikes you is just how big the set – in this case a soccer field – actually is. Then, when you consider that they move every character fractionally, take another still, then rinse and repeat thousands of times, you start to wonder how they ever actually complete anything.

We seriously can’t wait for this one. It’s the tale of reluctant caveman Dug, who’s at the turning of ages from Stone to Bronze, and the very British-sounding cavemen find themselves up against the very French-sounding, erm, French folk. In order to protect their land, Dug must lead his tribe to victory – in a soccer match. Voice cast notables include Tom Hiddleston, Maisie Williams, Eddie Redmayne, Miriam Margolyes, Timothy Spall and Richard Ayoade.

Early Man releases in Aussie cinemas this March 29 in Victoria and Queensland, then April 12 nationally.
