We have another cast member announcement for the third season of True Detective, and it’s Stephen Dorff.
Having appeared in everything from Blade to a Britney Spears music vid, Dorff (pictured above in Leatherface, a 2017 Texas Chainsaw Massacre origin story) is a face you’ll likely recognise, even if he hasn’t had any massive roles. In True Detective, Dorff will play Roland West, an Arkansas state investigator who lives under the shadow of a 30-year long mystery.
He joins as partner to the already announced Mahershala Ali (Moonlight) – who’ll play the lead role of detective Wayne Hays, while Carmen Ejogo (Selma) will portray schoolteacher Amelia Reardon, a woman with a connection to two long-missing children.
There’s still no news on a date for the third outing of the HBO series, but rest assured that we’ll keep our ears to the ground (as painful as that is) and let you know of any information as soon as we have it.
During the meanwhile, here’s a reminder of season two.
