It’s been in the works for a while, and now we have a first look at the TV series adaptation of ’90s action movie fave True Lies.
Arnie and Jamie Lee are out, and Steve Howey (TV’s Shameless) and Ginger Gonzaga (several TV series, and also the upcoming She-Hulk: Attorney at Law) are in as Harry and Helen. Good news is that James Cameron is involved as an executive producer, so that lends some authenticity to the new endeavour. Matt Nix, whose greatest achievement was the fab Burn Notice, is on board as showrunner.
You’re likely well aware of the story, but just in case you’re not: “Shocked to discover that her bland and unremarkable computer consultant husband is a skilled international spy, an unfulfilled suburban housewife is propelled into a life of danger and adventure when she’s recruited to work alongside him to save the world as they try to revitalize their passionless marriage.”
No exact air date for True Lies has been confirmed yet, but this trailer gives us some idea as to what to expect:
